We're ready to walk the extra mile: Qureshi
Islamabad, Jul 22: Pakistan Foreign Minister Makhdoom Shah Mehmood Qureshi said that they are willing to walk the 'proverbial extra mile' with India in pursuit of peace. He added that two countries must be ready to return to the negotiating table with the political will to resolve all outstanding issues including the core Kashmir issue, peacefully and in accordance with international law and morality.
Qureshi was advocating a three-day international workshop on 'Indian Military's Cold Start Doctrine and its Implications for
Strategic Stability of South Asia' in Islamabad on Wednesday, Jul 21.
He said that the last talks with SM Krishna did not draw a 'corresponding positive response'.
However, Qureshi maintained that the two nations should work together to take bold decisions to lead the citizens to a more hopeful and promising future. He also asserted that Pakistan's response was not motivated by ambitions for regional dominance or greater power status but to restore the strategic balance and detar aggression against the 'political independence and territorial integrity' of Pakistan.
