Freed Russian spy to return home

Moscow, Jul 22: Igor Sutyagin, Russian scientist who has been lying in Britain and is one among the spies exchanged as part of the Russia-US spy swap deal early on Jul 2010, said that he plans to return to his home country.

Sutyagin, on Thursday, Jul 22 revealed that he is going to return to Obninsk, near Moscow and fix the rickety porch of his house.

He was sentenced for a 15-years-imprisonment in 2004 for passing information to Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), the US intelligence agency.

Sutyagin said that he had known that 'this' will happen, sooner or later.

Russia apologized and released four prisoners imprisoned for espionage for the US in exchange for its 10 nationals arrested in US for spying charges, under the spy exchange deal.
