Pak violates ceasefire for 9th time in 3 weeks
Jammu, Jul 21: Accounting for the ninth ceasefire violation in the month of Jul 2010, Pakistani troops yet again fired on forward Indian posts along the international border here on Wednesday, Jul 21 morning at around 7 am.
A BSF jawan was injured in the incident when Pakistani Rangers fired at the forward post of Chawani and Jabowal Border Out Post (BOPS) in Akhnoor belt of Jammu district.
Troops guarding the borer retaliated, said Border Security Force (BSF) officials, adding that the security personnel had also foiled an infiltration bid by militants after exchanges of firing at forward area of Deora in Chak Phagwari belt of Jammu sector around 11:30 pm on Tuesday, Jul 20 night.
"BSF troops foiled the infiltration bid and militants fled after half-an-hour-long fire exchanges", they said pointing out that there was a ceasefire violation in the night as well.
In less than three weeks, there has been increased incidents of ceasefire violation by Pakistan along the Line of Control (LoC).
