Nifty ends with a positive note

Mumbai, Jul 21:Nifty had compensated the loss of Jul 20.

Nifty closed at just one point below 5400 point.

Global cues kept Nifty in positive side.

The Sensex closed at 17977, up 99 points and the Nifty was at 5399, up 31 points.

Sterlite Ind, Mah and Mah, GAIL, Ambuja Cements were among the top gainers with 168.65, 608.95, 453.05, 109.05 up respectively.

Axis Bank, HDFC, Idea Cellular, ABB were among the top losers with 1,347.15, 2,970.40, 64.70, 848.05 down respectively.

Nifty continues to be green

Nifty was trading with a positive note as the opening of European market and the ending of Asian market happened with a positive bias.

Metal, Auto, It shares had seen heavy buyings.

At 1:11 pm, the Sensex was up 98.68 points or 0.55% at 17976.82, and the Nifty was up 26.90 points or 0.50% at 5394.90. About 1705 shares advanced, 1270 shares declined, and 364 shares remain unchanged.

Tata Steel, Sterlite Industries, Mahindra and Mahindra were among the largecap gainers with 2-3 percent up.

While Kotak Mahindra Bank, Axis Bank, ABB, HDFC and Bharti Airtel were among the largecap losers with 1-2 percent down.

Reliance was trading at Rs 1,058.60 and tech major Infosys was trading at Rs 2,761.

SKF India, Monsanto India, Usha Martin were among the midcap gainers with 3.7-4.9 percent up.

Bhagwati Banquets, Electrotherm, Force Motors were among the smallcap gainers with 6-10 percent up.

Nifty is trading at 5406 points

With the buying interest in 40 out of 50 stocks, NSE Nifty gained further.

Reliance Industries with Metal, FMCG, technology were the leading sectors.

It was assuming that market is waiting for some triggers for next move as Nifty was still consolidating near 5400 for the seventh consecutive session.

At 11:56 am, the Sensex was trading at 18002, up 124 points and the Nifty was at 5406, up 38 points. The Nifty July future was trading at 3 points premium and August futures at 9 points premium.

Asian Paints, Tata Steel, Sesa Goa were the most active shares one exchanges.

Usha Martin, Ackruti City, PTC India were among the midcap gainers with 3-5 percent up.

Electrotherm, Force Motors, Mahindra Forging were among the smallcap gainers with 6-11 percent up.

Positive global cues give Nifty a good start

Positive global cues helped Nifty to get back again to a good start.

Shares of the companies like Metal, auto, realty were gainers in trade.

However, Ambuja Cements, Sterlite, ICICI Bank, Tata Motors, Wipro, Unitech, DLF and Maruti were watching buying interest.

But ABB, NTPC, ONGC, Bharti and HUL were mildly soft in trade.

At 9:01am, the Nifty was trading at 5393, up 25 points and the Sensex was at 17955, up 77 points.

Hindustan Media Ventures and HT Media were trading at 5.4 percent and 4 percent up respectively.

Asian markets were trading 0.2-0.8 percent up.

While only Straits Times declined just 0.16 percent.
