Blasts in Russian power plant, 2 killed
Moscow, Jul 21: The hydroelectric station in the Caucasus republic of Kabardino-Balkaria in southern Russia was attacked by a some suspected militants on Wednesday, Jul 21 and killed two guards.
The attackers also carried out two blasts in the power plant, destructing two of three generators.
A group of unknown people burst into the Baksan hydro power plant in the village of Islamei and shot two security guards. The assailants made two explosions in the territory of the plant and blowed up the generator.
Two another staffs were injured in the blasts in the administrative and machine room of the Baksan HPP. The assailants fled after the attack. There have been no claims or hints about the attack yet.
Police is searching for the third bomb. The operator of the power plant, Rushydro said that the power generation has been suspended and its gates have been opened.
