Major train accident averted in Punjab
Chandigarh, Jul 20: Himsagar Express in Punjab was averted a massive train accident on Tuesday, Jul 20.
The alert train drivers of the express train realized that its iron hook had broken, detaching the engine and four bogies from the train that was moving at nearly 100 km per hour.
The railway officials attributed the snag to a technical fault and they also ordered for a proper investigation.
The official said that efforts were being made to repair the fault.
The Himsagar Express runs on one of the longest routes in the country, connecting Jammu city with Kanyakumari town in Tamil Nadu.
