Govt cancels immigration clearance to Libya

New Delhi, Jul 20: Central government suspended immigration clearance for working in Libya.

The decision has been taken by the Overseas Indian Affairs Ministry after it was found that the Libyan companies and agents were not paying salary to Indian workers and violating conditions of contract with them.

Overseas Indian Affairs Ministry told that there will be no further emigration clearance granted to any worker, including nurses, for employment in Libya until further orders.

The Protector General of Emigrants has decided that the Protectors of Emigrants will clear emigration cases only in respect of the cases attested up to Jun 30, 2010 by the Embassy of India in Libya.
