Hyderabad, Jul 20: The destruction of public properties is 'improper', said Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister K Rosaiah on Tuesday, Jul 20. He was mentioning about the destruction of properties created by Telugu Desam followers to express their protest against the lathi charge by the Maharashtra police on their party legislators at Dharmabad in Maharashtra.
Rosaiah also condemned the reported manhandling of TDP leaders when they were being shifted in vehicles to the Aurangabad jail. There were reports that N Chandrababu Naidu, TDP President and his aides complaining that police used heavy force and even lathi charged some among them.
Rosaiah said that the government properties belong to people and if they are destructed, the ultimate loss will be for themselves. He appealed to all parties to support the State Government in the wake of the dispute.
He also suggested that all should exercise restraint and caution since Babli was a delicate inter-state problem. He was making efforts to lead all-party delegation to New Delhi to discuss with Prime Minister over the construction of Babli and other barrages by the Maharashtra Government across Godavari. Manmohan Singh has agreed to convene the conference on Jul 23.
