Why are train accidents taking place? asks Lalu
Patna, Jul 19: Labelling the massive West Bengal train accident at Sainthia station a " serious lapse", former Railway Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav has questioned why such accidents continue to occur.
"I don't understand why such accidents are taking place...This is a sad incident and a serious lapse," the RJD supremo told media personnel.
However, Mr Prasad did not seem interested in commenting on the allegations that the Union Railway Minister Mamatha Banerjee was concentrating more on West Bengal politics and not on the railways.
At leat 60 people were killed and about 100 injured in the mishap that took place in Birbhum district when two passenger trains collided in the wee hours of Monday, Jul 19.
