UK border police banned from chasing suspects

London, July 19 (ANI): Officers of the UK Border Agency have been warned against chasing escaping illegal immigrants in case they hurt themselves.

According to the Daily Star, Barmy health and safety rules prevent border guards from pursuing suspects.

There are an estimated 500,000 illegal immigrants in the UK and the country struggles to deport 50,000 each year.

Immigration officers said red tape and "silly" rules often prevented them from doing their job. (ANI)
