Srinagar, Jul 19: Police killed a Pakistani Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) commander in Kashmir.

LeT guerrilla commander, Abu Zarar, was killed in a gunfight with the police and Central Reserve Police Force in Bandipora district in north Kashmir.

"Acting on specific information about an LeT commander hiding in a house in Gurura village, security forces were moved out on Sunday, Jul 18 morning to cordon off the area. When he was challenged to surrender, he opened fire at the troops, triggering a gun battle that ended on Sunday evening," said a senior police officer.

Police had seized an AK-47 rifle, four magazines, some grenades and a wireless set from the LeT militant.
