Cong leaders into illegal mining, not me: Reddy
Bangalore, Jul 19: G Janardhana Reddy, Karnataka Tourism Minister who is involved in the controversial mining case alleged that the State Congress leaders, and not he, were into illegal mining.
He also named the Congress leaders who were entrenched with illegal mining which include MY Ghorpade, VS Lad and Sons, Allum Veerabhadrappa, HG Ramulu, SM Jain and Abdul Wahab.
Ghorpade is a former minister, Veerabhadrappa is former state Congress chief, Ramulu a former parliamentarian and Wahab, the former Bellary district Congress committee head. SM Jain is a former All India Congress Committee member. Anil Lad is a Rajya Sabha member where as Santosh Lad is an assembly member.
Janardhana Reddy who is the owner of the Obalapuram Mining Company reiterated that his firm is not into mining in Karnataka but only in Andhra Pradesh. He asserted that they are 'not mining even in one inch of land in Karnataka'. He also claimed that they are like 'pure gold, 24 carat gold' and all their mining activities are legal.
