Chidambaram & Pillai are in Maoists' hit lists
New Delhi, Jul 19: Central government had increased the securities of Union Home Minister P Chidambaram and Home Secretary G K Pillai after getting warnings from intelligence.
According to CNN-IBN, the intelligence agencies had got intercepts of Naxal communication which indicated that the rebels wanted to avenge the death of Azad.
Intelligence hinted that the Maoists wanted to kill the two leaders for the killing of their colleague Azad.
CPI-Maoist politburo member and spokesman Cherukuri Rajkumar alias Azad was killed in a shootout with the police at Adilabad district of Andhra Pradesh on Jul 2.
As CNN-IBN reported, instead of pistols, Chidambaram's security personnel are now carrying AK-47 guns as part of the enhanced precautions.
