Girl's brothers beat boyfriend to death, arrested

Bokaro, Jul 19: Honour killing in various forms continue to come to the forefront. The latest is the case of a class XII student who was beaten to death by his grilfriend's brothers.

Virat Vidya, student of Bokaro Public School, was killed by his girlfriend's four brothers on Friday, Jul 16.

The boy had enraged his girlfriend, Nupur's four brothers when he visited her residence.

Superintendent of Police Saket Kumar Singh told reporters that the brothers who spotted him, beat him up and left him to die near his residence.

Virat's body was found near Sector 4 by a guard and it was recovered on Saturday, Jul 17, the officer added.

Singh informed that the assailants have been arrested that they have admitted that their sister tried to protect her boyfriend.

However, the police refused to comment on the honour killing angle to the case.
