Afghan militants reject new peace offer

London, July 19 (ANI): Afghan militant leaders have rejected a new peace offer made to them on the eve of an international conference in Kabul.

Representatives from 60 countries will attend the conference. Security has been tightened across the Afghan capital after a suicide bomber attacked a market killing three civilians and wounding dozens on Sunday.

One of the key issues in the conference will be the merits of negotiating with the Taliban and the other insurgent groups fighting coalition forces there.

According to Sky News, the militants dismissed President Hamid Karzai's offer of money and land for peace, saying "we can't be bought".

They said the only peaceful resolution would be the retreat of foreign forces from Afghanistan. (ANI)
