TDP calls for bandh in AP on Jul 19
Hyderabad, Jul 18: Telugu Desam Party (TDP) has called for the demonstrations across the state on Sunday, Jul 18 and a bandh in Andhra Pradesh on Monday, Jul 19. The call for bandh has been given as a protest against the arrest of party president N Chandrabadu Naidu and 74 legislators by Maharashtra police.
The senior leaders of TDP convened an emergency meeting in Hyderabad at the party headquarters on Saturday, Jul 17 evening and finalized the action program.
They also held a teleconference with Chandrababu Naidu who had been remanded to two days judicial custody by a court in Dharmabad in Maharashtra.
TDP leaders urged the people to co-operate and make the protests a success. The reports also said that the detained TDP leaders refused to be lodged as separate groups in different prisons in Maharashtra. They urged the authorities to take them to a same prison so that they can stay together.
