Maoists set ablaze vehicles in Jharkhand
Jamshedpur, Jul 18: A group of Maoist guerrillas allegedly set ablaze six vehicles engaged in road construction at Ghatsila in Jharkhand, informed police on Sunday, Jul 18.
“Maoist guerrillas set fire to earth moving vehicles, dumpers and other equipments at the construction site near Bhadua village, bordering West Bengal late last night," said Superintendent of Police (Rural) SK Kujjur.
The vehicles belonged to a road construction company based in Ranchi. Police said that the demand for extortion by Maoists has been suspected to be the reason behind the incident.
No labourer was injured in the incident, they said.
