Hyderabad, Jul 16: N Chandrababu Naidu, Telugu Desam Party (TDP) chief started a bus yatra on Friday, Jul 16 to Babli near the Andhra Pradesh border.

He went to Babli to attend the 'national debate' on the controversial dam across the Godavari being built by Maharashtra.

Naidu started the yatra ignoring the appeal of CM, K Rosaiah to postponed the journey.

The Maharashtra government allotted security along the border to stop the four buses carrying Naidu with other TDP legislators and Lok Satta leaders.

Naidu told that it was a fact-finding mission aimed to start a national debate on Babli and 13 other illegal projects across Godavari.

He alleged that Maharashtra was pursuing its project on Babli in violation of Supreme Court orders.

He also alleged that Andhra Pradesh government was not doing anything regarding the dam project, which might turn disastrous to Telangana by making it a desert.

Although Rosaiah plans to take an all-party delegation to Delhi on Jul 2010 to meet Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to urge him to ask Maharashtra to stop construction of illegal projects.
