Islamabad, Jul 14 (ANI): On the eve of the Indo- Pak Foreign Ministers' level talks, External Affairs Minister S.M. Krishna today said that India wants prompt action from Pakistan on confessions by Lashkar-e-Toiba operative David Coleman Headley over the Mumbai terror attacks, and added that he was here to see what action Pakistan has taken so far.

Krishna, who arrived at the Chaklala Air Base along with a 15-member official delegation on Wednesday, was speaking to reporters at Hotel Serena in Islamabad.

India's stand has been strengthened by the revelations of Headley regarding the involvement of Pakistani intelligence agency in the 26/11 terror attacks.

"Headley's interrogation in the United States has been watched by the whole world; India cannot be faulted and Pakistan has to take due note of it. India expects prompt action," he said.

"I am here to see exactly what it is that Pakistan has done on that issue," Krishna added.

The US Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) arrested Headley in October 2009.

Headley revealed during interrogation that Pakistani terrorist leader Hafeez Saeed was the mastermind behind the 26/11 attacks in which the ISI played an active and key role, and confessed to his role in the Mumbai attacks in which Pakistani terrorists killed 166 people and injured over 200 others.

Headley, 49, told US interrogators that he had conducted a reconnaissance of the Mumbai sites before the attacks, having visited the country several times.

On March 18, Headley had pleaded guilty to conspiring in the 26/11 Mumbai attacks in 2008, as well as later planning to attack a Danish newspaper. By Smita Prakash(ANI)
