Congress plans padayatra from Bangalore to Bellary
Bangalore, Jul 14: The state Congress on Tuesday, Jul 13 informed that they would undertake a 'padayatra' from Bangalore to Bellary, to protest against Chief Minister BS Yeddyurappa for his failure to curb illegal mining .
The opposition party plans to invite some of its top leaders to participate the 15 to 20 days' padayatra, including Rahul Gandhi.
Siddaramaiah, Karnataka Congress leader informed the media that a rally will be held in Bellary at the end of the padayatra. He was speaking after the indefinite dharna in the House after his demand for a CBI probe into the 'illegal' mining was rejected by the government.
Tourism Minister G Janardhana Reddy challenged the Congress leaders to 'dare visit Bellary to agitate and they will be taught a lesson'. Siddaramaiah had slammed back to this remark that his party would stage a protest in front of Reddy's house, one among the mining magnets of Karnataka.
