Unexploded suicide vest found at Uganda blast site
Kampala, Jul 13: Uganda government officials informed that the investigators recovered an unexploded suicide vest in a disco hall in Kampala, which indicated that al-Shabab militants were plotting to carry out more attacks.
Kale Kaihura, the Inspector General of police said that the discovery of the suicide vest in the suburb of Kampala on Monday, Jul 12 was coherent with the twin bomb blasts in Kampala. Kaihura added that it is a very significant lead in their investigation.
The death toll of the bomb blasts rose to 76, informed the authorities on Tuesday, Jul 13.
Al-Shabab, the terror outfit in Somalia, has claimed the responsibility for the attack. Kaihura said that arrests have been made in connection with the twin blasts in Uganda. But he refused to say how many are arrested and hinted that Somali nationals could be among the arrests. He added that providing more information may hamper the investigation.
