Police arrests 5 for Allahabad blast

Allahabad, Jul 13: Five people were arrested in Allahabad in connection with the blast that happened on Monday, Jul 12.

The blast killed one man and critically injured five, including Uttar Pradesh minister for finance (stamps and registrations) Nand Gopal Gupta. The people were arrested from the Naini industrial and the trans-Ganga areas on Monday, Jul 12.

Police officials reported that the arrested people are believed to be close to a local Samajwadi Party leader.

"We have to get to the bottom of this explosion and we will not leave any stone unturned to bring the culprits to book," said Brij Lal, Additional Director General of Police.
