Ex-model hangs herself to death in Mumbai

Mumbai, Jul 12: A former model, Natasha Padbidri was found hanging from the ceiling fan at her Yari Road apartment in Mumbai on Sunday, Jul 11, reports a leading news channel.

Police said that she was under treatment for depression.

Natasha was staying alone in her apartments at the fifth floor while her family members including parents and siblings lived in her own apartment at the ground floor. Police said that she had left her career 8-9 years ago.

Her family members told police that they had dinner together on Saturday, Jul 10 night in the ground-floor flat. She went back to her apartment after the dinner. Her mother tried to call her on her mobile to come down for the breakfast on Sunday morning, but there was no reply.

Natasha's mother and two brothers went to her flat and knocked at the door around noon. As there was no response, they called a duplicate key maker and opened the door and found her hanging in her bedroom.

Police said that no suicide note has been recovered. They added that she was under treatment for depression at Bombay Hospital since 2006. Police official who is investigating the case said that he will explore all possibilities like professional failure, financial trouble or relationship problems.

Natasha's death comes couple of weeks after the suicide of former supermodel Viveka Babajee, under similar conditions.
