Eight Jodhpur kids found to be HIV positive after blood transfusion
Jodhpur (Rajasthan), July 12 (ANI): Eight children in Jodhpur, Rajasthan, have been found to be suffering from thalassaemia and, have been declared HIV positive.
According to Times Now, these kids were subjected to transfusion of infected blood. It also reported that 43 children have been diagnosed with Hepatitis C after undergoing blood transfusion in the city.
A probe by the Thalassemia Society revealed that 51 patients got infected during blood transfusion at the Ummed Hospital in Jodhpur.
The authorities, however, are blaming the lack of critical medical facilities for their failure to detect impure strains in the blood. (ANI)
