Martin Scorsese sued over accountant's fees

London, July 10 (ANI): 'Taxi Driver' filmmaker Martin Scorsese has been sued after allegedly failing to pay 400,000 pounds to his jailed accountant Kenneth Starr.

The director has been accused of owing the sum for bookkeeping fees and services provided by financial adviser Starr, who was arrested in May (10) after allegedly embezzling a massive 20 million pounds from stars including Scorsese, Uma Thurman and Wesley Snipes, reports the Daily Express.

Scorsese had agreed to pay five per cent of his income between 2006 and 2010 to Starr Investment Advisors, according to legal documents.

Court-appointed receivers for the firm have filed the lawsuit against Scorsese in Manhattan State Supreme Court.

A spokesperson for Scorsese told the New York Post that the director's production company "has paid substantial fees to his former business manager's firm, and if it has been determined that there is anything still outstanding, it will be rectified." (ANI)
