Fake Indian currency seized in Nepal

Kathmandu, July 10 (ANI): Nepal police on Friday arrested a Bangladeshi national in Kathmandu for possessing fake Indian currency worth about three million rupees.

Mohamed Rafik, who had arrived here from UAE through an Etihad Airways flight, was arrested in Kalimati by a special team of the Crime Investigation Department.

Acting on a tip-off, police raided the hotel where the suspects were staying and confiscated counterfeit Indian currency, said DSP Kedar Dhakal at the Metropolitan Police Range.

"We have also taken into custody Arun Kumar Gupta, an Indian, in this connection," he added.

Dhakal said that the haul includes counterfeit notes in denomination of rupees 1,000 and rupees 500. (ANI)
