After Bharat bandh, Bihar bandh begins
Patna, Jul 10: Just days after the Jul 5 Bharat Bandh, Bihar is set to observe another state bandh in protest against the fuel price hike on Saturday, Jul 10.
The bandh called for by RJD-LJP combine demanding withdrawal of the price hike from the Centre began on Jul 10 morning. So far, there has been no untoward incident reported across the state.
While train services were normal, people refrained from venturing out turning the vehicular traffic thin. As a precautionary measure, private operators suspended bus services. In the state capital, most schools were shut.
However, hospital, water supply, electricity and other essential services have been exempted from the purview of bandh.
In the afternoon, a procession is expected to hit the streets of Patna. The activists will be led by Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) chief Lalu Prasad and Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) supremo Ram Vilas Paswan.
