LeT has close ties with ISI: US investigative team
Washington, Jul 9: US terrorism research group, Investigative Project on Terrorism (IPT), reported that Pakistan based terrorist group Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) had close ties with Pakistan"s intelligence agency, the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI).
IPT reported this on the basis of written account given by India"s National Investigation Agency (NIA) to Pakistan after questioning Pakistani American David Coleman Headley.
IPT also told that Headley identified Jamaat ud-Dawa (JuD) leader Hafiz Muhammad Saeed as the master mind behind the Nov 2008 Mumbai terrorist attacks.
Headley, who in Mar 2010 pleaded guilty to 12 federal terrorism charges including providing material support toLeT and also disclosed the names of the terrorist handlers who orchestrated the attacks from Pakistan.
