Three local Hurriyat leaders arrested in Poonch
Srinagar, Jul 7: Police detained three local Hurriyat leaders on Wednesday, Jul 7 who were allegedly planning to enforce a bandh in Surankote town of Poonch district.
Police raided the houses of three leaders in Surankote town and arrested them. The detained leaders include Hanief Kalas, Irshad Hussain and Omar.
The Hurriyat leaders wanted to enforce bandh in Surankote town in support of Hurriyat's call for a bandh in Kashmir valley.
Parbeet Singh, Surankore DSP, said that police had to detain them in order to maintain law and order in the district.
