Pak continues to violate ceasefire; jawan killed

Jammu, Jul 7: For the second successive day, reports on two incidents of ceasefire violation at the Indo-Pak international border pour in.

Pakistani troops fired at a forward outpost along the International Border in Jammu sector at around 11: 30 pm (local time) on Tuesday, Jul 6 night.

The BSF retaliated and the exchange of fire went for an hour till 12: 30 am (local time) on Wednesday, Jul 7.

A BSF jawan, identified as K Hari Prasad, was killed in the firing. A villager, Roop Singh, was injured in the firing.

Within hours, another instance of ceasefire violation emerged as Pak troops opened fire at the Chak Pagwari BOP in Pargwal in the wee hours of Wednesday, Jul 7 morning at around 5:00 am.

Inspector General of BSF, Jammu Frontier, A K Sarolia informed that firing continued for over an hour intermittently. BSF fired back leading to exchange of fire. There was no casualty in this firing.

This comes just a day after Pak troops fired at the Chak Fagwari BOP, killing BSF trooper Sultan Ali on Tuesday, Jul 6.
