American raped at knife point in Hyderabad

Hyderabad, Jul 7: In yet another ghastly crime against a foreigner, an American woman was raped at knife point and robbed here on Wednesday, Jul 7.

The crime took place in the victim's house located on Road No 11 in the upmarket Banjara Hills locality in the wee hours of Jul 7.

The unmarried US citizen works for a non-profit charitable organisation and lives alone in India.

According to the police, the culprit broke into her home around 4 am and raped her at knife point before fleeing with money in tune of Rs 5 lakh.

Based on the description given by the victim, the police has launched a manhunt for the culprit.
