Naxals set a bus on fire in Gadchiroli

Mumbai, Jul 5: An MSRTC bus was set on fire by the Naxals in the district of Gadchiroli in Maharashtra on Monday, Jul 5.

Naxals overpowered the driver and threatened the passengers to get out of the bus. They fired the bus after all the passengers managed to get out of the vehicle. No injury has been reported with the incident.

Police reached the spot and helped the panic-striken passengers to reach their places of destination.

Maoists had threatened to retaliate after Azad killing. They had vowed to avenge the killing of their spokesperson and central committee member Azad Cherukuri Rajkumar, who was shot dead by Andhra Pradesh police in an encounter on Jul 2. “It is not an encounter at all. It is a cold-blooded murder by the Andhra Police. Let us avenge the killings of the beloved comrades," they had said.

Maoists added that they will vow vengeance for the murder of their leader on Sunday, Jul 4.
