Bandh forced IT firms to shutdown

Bangalore, Jul 5: The Bharat bandh called by all major political parties to protest against the ever increasing prices of essential commodities and fuels on Monday, Jul 5, forced to shutdown hundreds of IT firms in Bangalore. The country's largest IT companies like Infosys, Wipro, Tata Consulting Services (TCS) located in Banglaore declared a holiday on Monday, Jul 5, due to the nationwide shutdown against the hike in fuel prices.

However company has made vehicle arrangement for the employees working on essential projects.

"We have made arrangement for those software engineers handling key projects for overnight stay and transport to essential staff on day shift," said Infosys Chief Executive Krish Gopalakrishnan.

Many companies informed its employees about the holiday through email and sms.

However various companies have directed its employees to compensate by working on Saturday, Jul 10.
