US Vice Prez on a surprise visit in Iraq
Baghdad, Jun 4: Joe Biden, US Vice President has made a surprise visit to Iraq, informed the White House on Saturday, Jun 3.
Biden will meet Iraq President, Jalal Talabani and Prime Minister, Nuri al-Maliki to have a talk with them, focussing on the stalled formation of a new government following the March parliamentary election in Iraq.
Biden is also expected to discuss the security situation in Iraq as US will reduce its troops in Iraq down to 50,000 by the end of Aug, 2010.
His visit had not been announced due to security reasons. He also wants to celebrate Jul 4, the US national holiday with US forces in Iraq, informed the White House sources.
