India to sign four more agreements with Mauritius
Port Louis (Mauritius) July 3: In a bid to further strengthen its diplomatic relations, India will sign four more agreements with Mauritius on Saturday evening.
These agreement will be in the field of Cooperation for Early Warning Arrangement for Coastal Hazards between the Indian National Centre for Ocean Services (INCOIS), Programme for Cultural Cooperation for the years 2010 - 2013, MOU between Standardisation, Testing and Quality Certification (STQC), Department of Information Technology, Republic of India and National Computer Board (NCB) of the Mauritius and agreement between the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) and the Mahatma Gandhi Institute (MGI) in consideration of visiting chair of Sanskrit and Indian Philosophy at MGI, Moka.
On Saturday morning, India signed one Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Mauritius to provide an off shore patrol vessel to Mauritius.
As per the details available, to establish cooperative linkages for Tsunami Early Warning arrangements, preparedness, and mitigation of tsunami hazards and facilitate real-time monitoring data from all sea-level and earthquake monitoring stations and all other observation systems of the meteorological Services, India and Mauritius would sign MoU on Cooperation for Early Warning Arrangement for Coastal Hazards between The Indian National Centre for Ocean Services (INCOIS) and the Meteorological Services, of Mauritius.
The second MoU Programme for Cultural Cooperation between India and the Mauritius for the years 2010 - 2013 would emphasise on strengthening and reinforcing cultural linkages and enhancing people to people interactions by organizing exhibitions, holding film festivals and book fairs, exchanging cultural troupes, encouraging youth exchange programmes, and providing scholarships,
MOU between Standardisation, Testing and Quality Certification (STQC), Department of Information Technology, of India and National Computer Board (NCB) of Mauritius to promote closer co-operation and exchange of information pertaining to the Information Security and IT standards and collaborate on best practices in the field of Information Security Management Systems; disaster recovery planning and IT Service management.
An agreement would be signed between the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) and the Mahatma Gandhi Institute (MGI) in consideration of Visiting Chair of Sanskrit and Indian Philosophy at MGI, Moka.
All the agreements would be signed by M. Ganapathi, High Commissioner of India in Mauritius and Dunputh Balraj Harikrishna, Acting Director of the Meteorological Services of Mauritius, D. Phokeer, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Arts and Culture, Mauritius, S. Ramgolam, Chairman, National Computer Board of the Republic of Mauritius and V.D.
