Oz PM Julia Gillard will join twitter

Sydney, June 30 (ANI): Australia's new Prime Minister Julia Gillard has ended a weeklong speculation by deciding to join Tweeter.

Gillard has even promised that she will update her entries on the social networking site by herself.

The Aussie premier's office was non-committal earlier this week about whether she would join the Twitter sphere, with a spokeswoman saying she was too busy.

But Gillard has told Fairfax radio reporter that she is now planning to sign up.

"I just asked Julia Gillard if she will join Twitter. She says she will join soon and she will be authoring the tweets," the Sydney Morning Herald quoted the reporter as tweeting.

But the next challenge for Gillard will be finding a suitable user name, as the site already has at least eight fake Julia Gillard accounts. (ANI)
