Heavy security for Amaranth yatra pilgrims

Srinagar, Jun 30: In the wake of tension in valley, the first batch of pilgrims begin the Amaranth yatra amid of heavy security provided by BSF jawans on Wednesday, Jun 30.

For the last few days, there has been tension in several districts of Jammu Kashmir after civilian deaths due to security forces firing. Most towns in the valley have been put under curfew.

Pilgrims say the current situation in the valley will not stop them from going ahead with the yatra. How where weather can be a spoiler.

Thousands of pilgrims make it every year to the holy Amarnath cave shrine in south Kashmir, dedicated to Lord Shiva, that is located at a height of 13,500 feet.
