Curfew extended to more places in Srinagar

Srinagar, Jun 30: With the spreading violence, curfew is extended to more areas in south Kashmir including Bijbehara, Pahalgam and Pulwama districts on Wednesday, Jun 30 morning. Authorities had striclty enforced curfew in Baramulla, Sopore, Anantnag and seven police stations areas of Srinagar earlier.

Additional paramilitary and police personnel have been deployed to make sure the effective enforcement of curfew, said the police.

Police described the situation in Srinagar as tense, though no fresh incident was reported from any area in the valley so far on Wednesday, Jun 30.

Three youths were killed when CRPF allegedly opened fire during the encounter with the protestors who pelted stones at them.

Protestors who were violent after the incident had set ablaze three ambulances, three state road transport corporation trucks and a polic post, causing injuries to several including policemen.
