New Delhi, June 29(ANI): The Union Home Ministry on Tuesday approved a scholarship scheme for offering scholarship to twenty-five candidates getting admission to selected medical colleges in the country.
The Central Para-Military Forces (CPMFs) had recommended the scheme to attract talented medicos to their medical services.
Under the CPMFs Medical Scholarship Scheme, Rs. 10000 per month will be provided to 25 meritorious students for the total span of the study (four and a half years).
There will be reservation for SC, ST and OBC candidates.
Through this scheme, the students can not only pursue studies, but also get an attractive career in the CPMFs, as medicos in the forces get four time scale promotions in addition to the opportunity to scale new heights by getting promotion to the level of DIG/IG/ADG ranks.
The CPMFs (namely Assam Rifles, BSF, CISF, CRPF, ITBPF, SSB and NSG) have a vast network of 39 composite hospitals and about 550 unit/training institution hospitals to provide health care coverage to about 8,00,000 force personnel and their families all over the country.
The detailed terms and conditions of the Scholarship Scheme are available on the websites of BSF (http:// www.bsf.nic.in/) and other CPMFs websites.
