Google Chrome moves to third in US
San Francisco, Jun 29: Google Chrome moved to third most used Internet browser in the United States, revealed the studies done by StatCounter.
Google Chrome overtook Apple Safari for the first time as the third most used browser in US with Microsoft Internet Explorer in the first position and Firefox in the second.
Microsoft Internet Explorer had 52 percent, Firefox had 28.48 percent, Chrome had 8.97 percent and Apple Safari had 8.88 percent of the US browser market in the week that ended on Sunday Jun 27.
"This is quite a coup for Google as they have gone from zero to almost 10 percent of the US market in under two years," said StatCounter chief executive Aodhan Cullen.
"There is a battle going on between Google and Apple in the Internet browser space as Chrome vs Safari and in the mobile market as Android vs iPhone," he added.
