Fresh tension erupts in Kashmir as 9-year boy dies in firing

Baramulla (Jammu and Kashmir), June 28 (ANI): Tension continued in Jammu and Kashmir on Monday after a nine-year-old boy was killed allegedly during a police firing in the Delina area of Baramulla District in Jammu and Kashmir.

Earlier in the day, a 20-year-old youth Bilal Ahmed Wani was killed in police firing in Sopore town.

Fresh clashes erupted in Sopore region after Wani's death.

Reportedly the security forces used rubber bullets to disperse protesters.

They fired warning shots and lobbed tear gas shells in Sopore in the Kashmir Valley.

Protestors defied the curfew and staged a march in Sopore carrying Wani's body.

Meanwhile, Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah spoke to Union Home Minister P Chidambaram and urged him to help end violence in the State. (ANI)
