Pak Air Force swells with fighter jets from US
Islamabad, Jun 26: Three more F-16 fighter jets, handed over by the United States to Pakistan, is set to be inducted to the Pakistan Air Force (PAF).
In the first phase the US would hand over three F-16 Block 52 C fighter jets to Pakistan, defence sources informed on Friday, Jun 25.
A news agency report said that the US will formally hand over these jets at a ceremony to be held Sunday, Jun 27. Pakistani pilots would later fly the three F-16 fighter jets from US.
The PAF fleet will be bolstered by a total of 18 fighter jets by the end of 2010. Once all the 18 fighter jets are inducted, PAF fleet of F-16s would increase to 63
After a month, Pakistan will be receiving five F-16 fighter jets in the second phase.
Pakistan is seeking to persuade United States into giving it another 15 F-16 jets.
