Kerala: LDF calls for strike over fuel price rise
Thiruvananthapuram, Jun 26: CPI(M)-led ruling LDF has called for a bandh in Kerala to protest against the hike in prices of petrol, diesel, kerosene and LPG.
Public transport and commercial vehicles were off the roads and normal life was crippled on Saturday, Jun 26.
The dawn-to-dusk strike has largely remained peacefull and there were no reports of any untoward incident from anywhere, informed the police.
Universities were forced to postpone the examinations scheduled for the day.
Rail traffic, however, has not been affected.
CPI(M) backed CITU has also called for a state-wide bandh in West Bengal.
