Jaswant Singh re-enters BJP

New Delhi, Jun 24: Jaswant Singh, Lok Sabha MP and former external affairs minister was formally admitted into the party on Thursday, Jun 24.

He was admitted through a simple ceremony in which senior party leader LK Advani, party president Nitin Gadkari, Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Sushma Swaraj and spokesman Ravi Shankar Prasad were present.

Nitin Gadkari said that his re-entry makes it a great day for them. He expressed his joy over the senior leader's return to the party. He also requested Singh to continue guiding the party with valuable suggestions, not only on party affairs but also on the issues related to the nation's foreign policy and defence mechanism.

Jaswant Singh also revealed his heart-felt gratitude to the leaders of the party, especially LK Advani and Gadkari for taking actions for his return to party.

"I would like to express my sincere gratitude to Advani ji, Shushma ji and Gadkari ji for their support and the efforts they took to bring me back. I am extremely humbled by Advani ji"s generosity. I look forward to working together with my colleagues in the BJP and fulfil our commitment to make BJP the number one political party in India," he said.

He entered the party ten months after his expulsion from the party.
