Bhopal issue does not figure in Indo-US CEO meet
Washington, Jun 23: The ongoing Bhopal controversy was not even mentioned during the meet of Indo-US CEO Forum held at Washington on Tuesday, Jun 22.
The conference was attended by a high level Indian delegation including Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee, Commerce Minister Anand Sharma and Deputy Chairman's Planning Commission Montek Singh Ahluwalia along with US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.
Several Indian CEO who participated the meet informed media that Bhopal issue did not figure in the talks they had at the State Department. Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee also said that the issue did not appear at all, during the meeting.
Dow CEO Andrew Liveris did not attend the meeting of which he is a member. He had informed that he will not come for the meeting due to a prior engagement. His spokesman had also made it clear that the CEO's absence has nothing to do with the Bhopal controversy.
