Army Col gunned down by militants in N Kashmir
Srinagar, Jun 23: An Army Colonel was gunned down by militants in an encounter in North Kashmir on Tuesday, Jun 22 night.
Official sources revealed that Col Neeraj Sood, commanding officer of 18 Rashtriya Rifles, was killed in an encounter with militants in the dense forests of Lolab Valley.
As of Wednesday, Jun 23 morning, the encounter between security forces and the militants was still on.
Additional forces have been deployed.
