Gujarat lecturer alleges rape by three teachers

Mehsana (Gujarat), June 22 (ANI): A woman lecturer of Gujarat's Mehsana District has alleged that three teachers of a government school have raped her.

According to police, on Monday evening, the 25-year old lecturer of Kalol Primary Teachers' College (PTC) attempted suicide by consuming poison at Kalol state transport bus depot.

Police recovered a suicide note from the victim, in which she stated that three teachers of a government primary school at Kadi Taluka of the District raped her over a period of few months.

The woman was admitted to a private hospital at Mehsana for further treatment; however she was still unconscious, police said.

On Tuesday, the Gujarat Police have detained one of the three teachers who allegedly raped the lecturer.

The police have detained Ketan Thakar, while the other two accused were at large.

Victim's father has lodged a complaint at the Kadi Police Station based on the suicide note.

In the suicide note, the victim alleged that she was raped by three teachers and named them.

She also alleged that these three teachers also took her photographs and were blackmailing her. (ANI)
