Beijing, Jun 22: Floods and landslides in China's eastern Fujian Province have killed 76 people, says the official reports. 79 people are missing.
The torrential downpours have triggered flash floods and mud flows in China, which becomes the worst fury of nature in 100 years. Floods have affected 2.65 million people and damaged 44,200 buildings, reported an official news agency.
Around 527,300 people have been evacuated from Fujian alone and the direct economic losses of 1.4 billion dollars has been estimated.
Floods in ten regions of Southern China had claimed the lives of 175 people during the past couple of days. The worst hit were the provinces of Hunan, Fujian, Guangdong, Jiangxi, Sichuan and Guizhou.
