Sushil Modi cancels trip with Nitish Kumar

New Delhi, Jun 20: The dispute between the leaders of Bihar and Gujarat witnessed a new step. Sushil Modi, Deputy CM and BJP leader of Bihar canceled the trip with Nitish Kumar. The decision came on Sunday, Jun 20, a day after the Bihar CM returned Rs 5 crore received by his state from Narendra Modi government for the Kosi flood victims.

Sushil Modi was scheduled to go on a Vishwas Yatra trip with Nitish Kumar.

The decision to return the Gujarat money was taken to protest against advertisements published in the newspapers in Bihar, to coincide with the BJP's national executive meeting in Patna. The add promoted Gujarat chief minister Narendra Modi for providing monetary help to the flood victims.

The return of the amount could follow up with a serious fall out for the JD(U)-BJP alliance. Kumar, by returning the relief fund has exercised an autonomy which will strain ties in the lead up to elections, when they would hassle over who gets to contest how many seats.
