Indian shot dead in US; online dating impact
Washington DC, Jun 20: An Indian software engineer was robbed and shot dead by a five-members group in a motel near Detroit in United States.
The victim has been identified as Venkata Subba Reddy Cuttamanchi, 35, who is the native of Chittoor in Andhra Pradesh. The deceased went to the motel to meet a Mexican woman.
Police have arrested all the five in the team, including the boy friend of the woman, involved in the murder.
Venkata Reddy met the 23-year old Mexican woman through an online dating site. He had a meal at Wendy's restaurant on the day when he was murdered. After the lunch, he was drove to a nearby EZ Rest motel where the woman's boyfriend and four others were waiting. They robbed him and shot him to death.
Police was immediately informed about the murder by the people who saw the shooting.
